These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your enrollment in and use of the text message (SMS) and email communication programs offered by Eastmanville URC ("we," "us," or "our"). By opting in to receive text messages or emails from us, you agree to these Terms. Please read them carefully.
1. About Our Communications Program
Eastmanville URC offers members and friends of the church the option to receive communications by text message and/or email. These communications may include:
Service times, schedule changes, and cancellations (e.g., weather closures)
Event announcements and reminders
Prayer requests and pastoral updates
Ministry and small-group information
Giving and stewardship reminders
General news from the church community
You may choose to receive text messages, emails, or both.
2. Consent and Opt-In
Participation in our text message and email programs is entirely voluntary. By providing your mobile phone number or email address and opting in, you consent to receive communications from Eastmanville URC as described in these Terms.
You may opt in by:
Completing a sign-up form on our website
Filling out a physical connection or registration card
Texting a designated keyword to our number (if offered)
Providing your contact information to a church staff member or volunteer with your permission to be contacted
Consent is not a condition of membership, participation in church activities, or the purchase of any goods or services.
If you are under 18, please obtain permission from a parent or guardian before opting in.
3. Text Message (SMS) Program Terms
By opting in to our text message program, you acknowledge and agree to the following:
Message frequency varies. You may receive messages on a recurring basis depending on the ministries and updates you have subscribed to. Frequency is not fixed.
Message and data rates may apply. Standard message and data rates from your wireless carrier may apply to each message sent or received. Please check with your mobile carrier for details about your plan.
Supported carriers. Our program is generally available on major U.S. wireless carriers, but we cannot guarantee delivery on every carrier, and carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
Your responsibility. You are responsible for notifying us if your mobile number changes, and for any charges incurred as a result of participating in the program.
How to Get Help
At any time, reply HELP to any of our text messages, or contact us at eurcsecretary@proton.me for assistance.
How to Opt Out
You may cancel text messages at any time by replying STOP to any message you receive from us. After you send STOP, we will send you a confirmation message and then stop sending text messages. If you would like to rejoin, simply opt in again.
4. Email Program Terms
By opting in to our email program, you agree to receive emails from Eastmanville URC at the address you provided.
Email frequency will vary depending on church activity and the topics you have subscribed to.
Every email we send will include an unsubscribe link. You may withdraw your consent to receive emails at any time by clicking that link or by contacting us directly at eurcsecretary@proton.me
We will process unsubscribe requests promptly. You may continue to receive transactional or previously scheduled messages for a short time as our systems update.
Opting out of emails does not remove you from our text message program (and vice versa); each is managed separately.
5. Privacy
We respect your privacy. The contact information you provide is used solely to communicate with you on behalf of Eastmanville URC.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your mobile number, email address, or other personal information to third parties.
We may share your information with trusted service providers (such as our text messaging or email platform) only as necessary to operate these programs, and only under agreements that require them to protect your information.
We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the safety of our members and community.

6. Changes to These Terms

Eastmanville URC is not responsible for any charges, delays, failed deliveries, or technical problems arising from your participation in these communication programs. Communications are provided on an "as is" basis to the extent permitted by law.

4. The Church Directory and App
Our church app includes a member directory to help our congregation stay connected.
Directory information is only visible to logged-in members. A member must sign in to their own app account with a valid username and password before any directory information can be viewed. Directory details are not publicly accessible and are not available to anyone who is not a logged-in member of the church.
You control your directory listing. You may choose what information appears in the directory and may ask us to update or remove your listing at any time by contacting us.
Keep your login private. Your app account is for your personal use. Please keep your username and password confidential and do not share your login. Notify us promptly if you believe your account has been accessed without your permission.
5. How We Share Information
We do not disclose member information to third parties, with the following limited exceptions:
Service providers. We may share information with trusted providers who help us operate the church — such as our app platform, text messaging service, email service, or giving provider — solely so they can perform those services for us. Within the congregation. Directory information is available to fellow members through the app, as described in Section 4, because you have chosen to include it.

Outside of these limited circumstances, we do not share your information with anyone. Text messaging opt-in data and consent are never shared with any third party.

Manage your directory listing. Ask us to change what appears in the directory or to remove your listing.
Text messages. Opt out at any time by replying STOP to any message. Reply HELP for assistance.
Emails. Unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email we send, or by contacting us directly.
Delete your account. Request that we deactivate your app account or remove your information from our records by contacting us.
8. Children's Privacy
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children without the consent of a parent or guardian. If you believe a child has provided us information without such consent, please contact us and we will address it.
